Los Saltos de Jima son nueve, desde el nacimimiento del río que lleva su mismo nombre, en la Reserva Científica Las Neblinas, en el extremo nororiental de la Cordillera Central, hasta el paraje de Jayaco.
El viaje en vehículo termina en Charco Prieto, en donde se puede bañar en las ricas aguas del río Jima, y desde allí también se inicia el senderismo hacia los nueve charcos, diseminados en todo el trayecto, hasta el charco mayor, en donde una cascada de más de cien metros de altura pone en contacto a los sentidos con la naturaleza.
Es una zona rica en biodiversidad y el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente estudia la posibilidad de incluirlo en el Sistema de Áreas Protegidas/
from 92 kilometers from the capital is the municipality Bonao, in Monseñor Nouel province, in the heart of the Dominican side of the island, and in the hamlet La Ceiba you can get to go to the Jima's falls.
The Jima`s falls are nine, from the river of the same name in The Mist Scientific Reserve in the northeastern part of the Central Cordillera.
The vehicle trip ends in Charco Prieto, where you can bathe in the rich waters of the river Jima, and thence also starts walking toward the nine pools, scattered all the way up to the largest pond, where a waterfall over a hundred feet tall contacted the senses with nature.
It is an area rich in biodiversity and the Ministry of Environment is considering for inclusion in the Protected Areas System.
